Alumni Group on Facebook

This site was doing little besides attracting spammers, so we've moved it to facebook.

So, please join us in the facebook group "Thomas A. Edison High School, Alexandria, VA Class of 1986".

We won't be taking this site down anytime soon; but, if it becomes active again, you'll heard about it first in the new group.

Update (6/18/2010)

I've shut off account creation on this site. It seems I should've done it a while ago, but it appears that the "spam" situation got much worse while I wasn't looking.

Welcome To Edison86.com

Edison86.com was started in the afterglow of our 20th Reunion Weekend.

Please take a moment to register for an account. Your personal information will not be available on the site, will never be used for commercial purposes, and will be used very discreetly for infrequent communications about Alumni issues.

By registering, you can view personal photo albums, post photos and news items, create polls, and participate in the forums.

We're all different people than we used to be; but, at least one common thread remains. I regret that I wasn't able to reacquaint with many of you at the 20th, and I hope to remedy that in the coming years.

Gallery Fixed...

I only realized tonight that the photo gallery has been broken for a while. It looks like the webhost made a change to the PHP environment, and it clobbered the site. All fixed now, and new photos are available for the first time, courtesy of Bonnie K.

"Quick-Start" Guide To Adding Photographs

I've had a few questions regarding photo uploads, so I put together and posted a brief walk-through which will hopefully get you started.

You can find it here.

Please let me know if you have any problems with these directions, feel that something is missing, or have suggestions to make them more useful. This guide contains a link to the offical manual for Gallery users; but, I've attempted to compile the most important information into an easy-to-swallow form.

PowerPoint Slideshow From The 20th Reunion

The slideshow that was running in the corner of the dining room is available here.

Many thanks to Ann Marie both for making it and for sharing it. Most of the pictures that went into the slideshow are in the gallery, here.

Monster file at 165MB. PowerPoint or a viewer required.
